Pastor Jo Johnson comes to us from Courts of Praise Community Church of God and Christ in the city of Manteca, CA where she and her Husband Pastor Terry K. Johnson, are the Senior Pastor.  

 

Native to the Bay Area, born in Berkeley, CA; Raised in the city of Oakland and unaware of God’s calling on her life, she received the Lord Jesus as her personal savior at the age of 14 years old and later in life received the indwelling of the precious Holy Spirit.

Upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she pursued higher education and received Bachelor's in Theology, Master's in Christian Counseling as well as a Doctorate in Theology.  In addition; she received her credentials as a Missionary Evangelist under the leadership of Bishop Jerry W. Macklin and our State mother, now gone home to glory, Mother Plumie O. Dancey.

 

With a servant’s heart, she has served in many areas of the local church to include YPWW, Sunday School Teacher, Evangelism President, Youth President, New Members Orientation Trainer, Marriage Leader, Teacher and Praise and Worship Leader. In addition, she has served in the Hebron District as the Evangelism President, Field Representative for the NorCal Department of Evangelism, and now serves as the Elect Lady of Evangelism NorCal State Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Department of Evangelism.

 

Further, she began a prison ministry in the San Joaquin California Department of Correction, she distributes food on a monthly basis to those that are less fortunate, served food at a local men's Shelter, and speaks the word of God at several street locations in the Manteca area.    In addition to her current duties at her local church she and her husband Pastor Terry K. Johnson are conference speakers, marriage counselors and has an additional  Ministry by the name of “Made by Design” where their focus is on Personality profiling, Love Languages, and Marriage.  Lastly, she is the President of Genesis Coaching, teaching that God has created within you a remarkable organ called your brain.  Understanding the connection between thought and action to move forward and improve your life.  Move out of a stuck state, improve self-confidence, and height self-awareness to create balance.

 

In her life she has come to the realization that Jesus Christ is the very air she breathes and her hope for you is that you will come, if not already, to experience the extraordinary truth of God’s love.   With that, she has dedicated her walk to help others find this truth.
